Director of People and Culture (HR)

We are looking for a Director of People and Culture to support us in growing an all-star team and developing a successful and gratifying corporate culture. 

You will serve on our leadership team and must share our passion for technology, education, and entrepreneurship. 

Also, you will support the Executive team in developing strategy and driving the execution needed for success.

It is a 15 hour commitment per week initially and a ground-floor opportunity to help build something worthwhile.

The position is compensated with equity and percentage of ownership is based on what you bring to the table!

Essential Functions: This position is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources and corporate culture functions.

  1. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the agency’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.

  2. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures agency’s compliance.

  3. Maintains responsibility for agency compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.

  4. Communicates changes in agency personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.

  5. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of agency wage and salary program.

  6. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.

  7. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters.

  8. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.

  9. Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the agency.

  10. Develops and maintains a human resource system that meets agency personnel information needs.

  11. Supervises the staff of the human resource department.

  12. Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or four to 10 years’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  1. Master’s degree
