Workshop Scenario:

Please think of yourself in the following scenario as you complete this workshop.

You are recently hired by a company specializing in online learning platforms. As part of your onboarding process, you must take an introductory learning experience design course to familiarize yourself with the principles and practices of designing practical online courses.

After completing the course, you are assigned to write a content development plan for an online cooking course promoting healthy eating habits. The course aims to teach participants, both teens, and adults, about nutritious ingredients, cooking techniques, and meal planning for a balanced diet. The course should follow the learning experience design steps.

In this lesson, you will complete a content development plan utilizing everything you learned in this course.

Your objective for today is:

Demonstrate proficiency in incorporating feedback mechanisms at various stages of the learning process to enhance learner engagement and program effectiveness.

8.1 Delivering the Experience

This step aims to ensure the effective execution and continuous improvement of educational programs. Here are some key points to consider:

  1. Testing with a pilot group: Test your design by implementing it with a pilot group of learners. This allows you to gather feedback and assess the learning program's effectiveness.

  2. Effective facilitation: Update stakeholders and effectively manage challenges as they arise during the implementation process.

  3. Embracing mistakes and learning: No course design is perfect. Celebrate your wise design choices while remaining open to making mistakes and learning from experiences. Incorporate opportunities for feedback at every step of the learning process.

  4. Iteration for improvement: The design process is cyclical. As designers determine the impact of the learning experience, it is important to revise the original goals for a new set of learners or set new goals for a follow-up experience. Each iteration offers an opportunity for an improved learning experience.

8.2 Project

Use the content development plan worksheet to write a content development plan for an online cooking course promoting healthy eating habits. The course aims to teach participants, both teens, and adults, about nutritious ingredients, cooking techniques, and meal planning for a balanced diet. The course should follow the learning experience design steps.
